Naperville Helps! campaign returns to brighten community spirit

-

Above / Sidewalks are clear, sun is shining and Downtown Naperville again has launched Naperville Helps!

The Naperville Area Chamber of Commerce and the Downtown Naperville Alliance again have joined hands to reopen the Naperville Helps! Campaign. While active in 2020 and 2021, this GoFundMe Campaign raised nearly $100,000 and helped more than 30 local restaurants serve more than 6,000 meals to local first responders, organizers said.

“We are honored to help support the amazing healthcare workers at Edward Hospital as they work hard to help keep our community healthy,” said Danielle Tufano, Executive Director of the Downtown Naperville Alliance. “Whether you can give a few dollars or a few hundred dollars, that money has double the impact as it helps to support our downtown restaurants and allows us to provide meals to local healthcare workers.”

Kaylin Risvold, President and CEO of the Naperville Area Chamber of Commerce, said she, too, is enthusiastic about reopening the Naperville Helps! campaign.

In March 2020, Naperville Helps! was begun in support of local restaurants as a way also to express appreciation to healthcare providers at Edward Hospital. “These donations are a small way we can continue to support our business community and say thank you to those working tirelessly at Edward Hospital,” added Risvold. “It’s great that we can bring businesses together with our larger community to not only say ‘thank you’ but to spread a smile through a donated delicious snack.”

“In speaking with representatives from the hospital,” Tufano continued, “they agree that a project like this could not have come at a better time and they greatly appreciate all of the support from the community.”

The Naperville Helps! fund will be managed by the teams at the Naperville Area Chamber of Commerce and the Downtown Naperville Alliance in conjunction with Naperville area restaurants and treat shops.

Members of the DNA and Naperville Area Chamber of Commerce expressed their appreciation for all continued support, mindful that Naperville Helps! is another way the community can get through challenges together.
