Tik Tok has been a major hit across the globe. Last month, they reported having over 700 million active users, most of which are under the age of 25. All sorts of trends and games have spread on the platform, but as of September, there is a new trend called “Devious Licks.”
Devious Licks began as a challenge for high school students to steal something from their school. The result was not only simple items like staplers and markers disappearing, but also more expensive things like microscopes and even smart boards started to vanish from schools.
As this began to die down, Devious Licks took a sharp turn and began encouraging students to vandalize their school. By this point in the trend’s lifespan, it had attracted quite a few eyes, and as a result, even schools like Metea began to experience the side effects of such a self-destructive fashion.
This trend has convinced many students to vandalize bathrooms at Metea Valley by writing on walls, spreading trash, and even breaking stalls. Without the appropriate amount of staff to respectfully monitor our bathrooms, Metea’s administrators were given no choice but to lock many of the bathrooms around the building. Consequently, a common sight used to be students racing across the building in search of a toilet.
Recently, our administrators have been effectively limiting the damage done by the Tik Tok fans and have successfully begun re-opening our bathrooms. Sadly, a new Devious Licks challenge has come; slap a teacher’s behind.
