Artists recognized for designs on Goldstar Families Memorial Program

-

Last month, a display in the Naperville Municipal Center lobby featured original paintings by Troy Biegun and Charles Smith. Works by the two artists from Little Friends Inklude Studio competed among 15 entries for prize money and a chance, under leadership of Nikki Bozzano, to be on the cover of the printed programs for the Gold Star Families Memorial Monument Ceremonial Groundbreaking held Sept. 26 in Veterans Park.

During a brief ceremony on Oct. 28, MAYOR STEVE CHIRICO expressed appreciation and congratulations to the artists for their creative contributions. Also in attendance were family and Little Friends’ associates* as well as members of the Gold Star Families Memorial Committee and Century Walk Corp. Pictured with Mayor Chirico from left are JASON ALTENBERN*, SANGEETA PANDE, RON BIEGUN, DEE BIEGUN, artist TROY BIEGUN, NICOLE FOX*, NIKKI BOZZANO*, artist CHARLES SMITH, KAREN THOMPSON, BRAND BOBOSKY, PAT LOY*, and MARTY WALKER.

Updates and fundraising opportunities for landscaping will be featured as progress continues with the dedication anticipated in late June 2022.

When Gold Star Families Memorial Monument Committee member Lew Breese saw artwork by Inklude Studio on display at Casey’s Foods earlier this year, he had the idea for a competition that attracted participation by 15 artists to design the cover for the program at the groundbreaking ceremony. Breese, not pictured, was out of town during the recent recognition by Mayor Steve Chirico.
