Nov. 4 / Naperville Responds for Veterans is set to host Cheers! for Veterans Reverse Raffle & Fundraiser from 6 to 10PM Thurs., Nov. 4, at Bobak’s in Woodridge. Reverse Raffle Drawing (Not necessary to be present to win/Raffle ticket sales end at noon Nov. 4 or when 500 are sold.) starts at 7PM followed by Live Auction at 8PM. Join the fun, camaraderie and prize-winning opportunities that come in support of assisting Veterans and their families in need of home repairs and renovations, especially those with low and moderate income. Nov. 9 / Save Suburbs USA will host its inaugural fundraiser at 5:30PM Tues., Nov. 9, at Aurelio’s in Springbrook Square, located on the SE corner of Route 59 and 83rd Street. The special guest will be US Army Colonel Tracey Collins. As a veteran who served in Kabul — and who is married to a retired police lieutenant — Colonel Collins knows the importance of safe communities! Nov. 10 / At 9AM Wed., Nov. 10, the Naperville Marines will host a flag raising ceremony at the Riverwalk Veterans Plaza along Jackson Avenue near Main Street. The public is welcomed to this annual Marines Birthday tribute.
Nov. 10 / The Naperville Marines will host its annual Marine Corps Birthday Ball beginning at 5:30PM Wed., Nov 10. This year the event will be held at the Judd Kendall VFW Post 3873, 908 W. Jackson Avenue. Brand new, unwrapped Toys for Tots (Founded by the the U.S. Marine Corps Reserves in 1947) will be collected. Nov. 11 / Naperville American Legion Post 43 and Judd Kendall VFW Post 3873 will host annual Veterans Day ceremony. Beginning at 10:45AM Thurs., Nov. 11, with music performed by the Naperville Municipal Band, the Veterans Day observance will start promptly at 11AM (“11-11-11”) at Veterans Park, 303 E. Gartner Road.
Nov. 11 / Joint Veterans Day Dinner hosted by American Legion and Judd Kendall VFW will be held beginning at 5:30PM Thurs., Nov. 11. Veterans and their families are welcome to the annual Veterans Day dinner held at the VFW Post, 908 Jackson Ave., where parking is available at the rear of the facility. The menu by Belgio’s Catering will include oven-roasted turkey, mashed potatoes and gravy, green bean casserole, stuffing, cranberry sauce, dinner rolls and dessert cake.
