Oct. 22 / Kids Night Out – Spooktacular at the Fort Hill Activity Center is from 6PM to 9PM Fri., Oct. 22. Come in costume, paint pumpkins and play games! Registration required.

Oct. 22-23 / Howlin’ at the Moon will run from 5PM to 10PM Sat., Oct. 22, and Sun., Oct. 23. This is a new event for those 21 and older with live music, a food truck graveyard, booze bar, an illusionist, and fire dancers at Naper Settlement, 523 S. Webster St near downtown Naperville. Costumes are encouraged. Register in advance. $20 (must be 21).

Saturday

Oct. 23 / The Naperville Junior Woman’s Club Trick or Treat returns to Safety Town from 9AM to Noon on Sat., Oct. 23. Kids can stop by in their costumes and visit each vendor for Halloween treats. All non-perishable food items also are appreciated for a collection/ donation for Loaves & Fishes Community Services.

Oct. 23 / The Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) National Drug Take Back Day is Sat., Oct. 23, 2021. Use this reminder to go through your medications and dispose of any unused or expired medications, getting them out of your home. Oct. 23 / Judd Kendall VFW Post 3873 Fall Blood Drive In Kendall Hall (upstairs area of the Post) is set for 7:30AM to 12:30 PM Sat., Oct. 23. Donors are requested to schedule an appointment ahead of time. Call Vitalant at (877) 258-4825 or log on to Vitalant.org to schedule your appointment. Walk-ins will be accommodated as social distancing guidelines allow. Masks are required. The VFW is located at 908 W. Jackson Avenue, just west of Centennial Beach and downtown Naperville.

Oct. 23 / The Judd Kendall VFW Auxiliary will host “Karaoke for a Cause” beginning at 6:30PM Sat., Oct. 23, at the VFW to raise money for the Midwest Shelter for Homeless Veterans. Good food, great raffle prizes, and questionable singing, but all for a worthwhile cause! The Judd Kendall VFW is located at 908 W. Jackson Ave., just west of downtown Naperville. The public is welcome!

Oct. 23 / Live Music at Quigley’s Irish Pub in downtown Naperville, 43 E. Jefferson Ave. Jameson Shakes will perform beginning at 8:30PM.

World Polio Day is October 24. One Day, One Focus, Ending Polio. World Polio Day unites global health experts and partners to share progress on the road to polio eradication. Think about it!

Oct. 24 / Halloween Happening returns to the Riverwalk Grand Pavilion from 1PM to 4PM Sun., Oct. 24. This is a free Halloween festival for kids 10 and under. FREE! Alert! According to the Naperville Park District’s website, due to inclement rainy weather, this popular treat-of-an-event has been scaled down to a presentation of a goodie bag underneath the Riverwalk Grand Pavilion.

Oct. 24 / NOTE WEATHER WATCH & UPDATE! Today’s forecast includes steady rain showers for the afternoon, according to the National Weather Service. Flash flood watch will be in effect from 4PM Sunday through Monday morning. Be sure curbside and backyard storm drains are clear of fallen leaves to help prevent flooding.
