KidsMatter celebrated its 20th anniversary during its annual EMPOWER Gala on Sept. 17 at the Chicago Marriott Naperville.
“It was amazing to welcome that evening Mary Ann Bobosky and Marianne Boyajian – Founders of KidsMatter, and IdaLynn Wenhold and Kamala Martinez – both past Executive Directors of KidsMatter,” said Sherilyn Hebel, Director of Programs for the nonprofit organization with a mission to build resilient kids who say “No” to destructive choices and “Yes” to their endless possibilities.
Hebel added that the new Executive Director Nina Menis, pictured at the podium with Martinez, Wenhold, Boyajian and Bobosky, introduced these “wonderful women back and honored them that evening.”
Out of PN’s files in 2003 and prior to the onset of social media, Kris Visher was among many local residents featured in a series of “KidsMatter Salutes…”
