Above / Mesón Sabika will partner with Red Cross to host a fundraiser on Tues., Sept. 14, 2021. The restaurant located in the historic mansion at 1025 Aurora Avenue will donate 100 percent of sales that day to aid victims of recent destructive floods, hurricanes and other natural disasters.

In an effort to provide assistance near and far, Mesón Sabika is stepping up with an opportunity for the community to invite friends and family to join efforts to raise funds for those impacted by the Father’s Day Tornado here and Hurricane Ida throughout the South and Eastern Coastline. The Spanish tapas restaurant will donate 100 percent of sales to the American Red Cross when individuals, couples and families dine at the restaurant for lunch or dinner on Tues., Sept. 14.

“We’re welcoming everybody to help us raise some funds,” said owner Hossein Jamali the other evening during a special event in the Pavilion at Mesón Sabika. “Whether lunch or dinner, every dollar will go to the Red Cross to help people affected by recent natural disasters. We’re hoping for another big success.”

The American Red Cross shelters, feeds and provides emotional support to victims of recent disasters, including wildfires, flooding, hurricanes and earthquakes.

Mesón Sabika fundraising fulfills unmet needs, makes a difference

When a natural disaster happens, Mesón Sabika often has partnered with the American Red Cross to enable the nonprofit humanitarian organization efficiently to provide shelter, food and emotional support to victims of disasters.

According to the Red Cross website that always lists its current focus in the wake of a disaster, “The Red Cross supplies about 40 percent of the nation’s blood; teaches skills that save lives; provides international humanitarian aid; and supports military members and their families.”  As of Sept. 12, 2021, the focus is on Hurricane Ida as well as the need for volunteers and blood donations.

The Red Cross depends on trained and certified volunteers as well as the generosity of the American public while it’s also known to collaborate with other humanitarian organizations such as the Salvation Army in order to perform its mission.

Mesón Sabika since 1990

Located just west of downtown Naperville, Mesón Sabika has been serving the community since 1990. Whether dining in one of the historic mansion’s eight dining rooms decorated in traditional Spanish décor, attending a wedding or corporate event in the Pavilion, sitting on the award-winning patio, or venturing out toward the front patio created in 2020; the cuisine of Spain, signature sangria (white or red) and delicious drinks create an unparalleled dining experience. Editor’s Note / We always are grateful to the ownership of Mesón Sabika for sharing their generous outreach that often extends way beyond this community with compassion and understanding of unmet needs. Mesón Sabika fundraisers during lunch and dinner hours are pleasurable ways to make a difference to worthy causes with family, friends, neighbors and business associates. Community seating also is available for individuals where folks might have an extra seat at the table. Dining in the bar also is available.

During current challenges with staffing, allowing a little extra time for dining with patience is appreciated. Thank you.
