Pulse of Naperville Music Scene – Just a matter of time

I believe it was somewhere around this time of year in 2016 that I got an email from a 15-year old girl. Her name was Moriah. She confessed to being a singer and asked if I might interview her for my website. I did hear one song that she had done at the time and it was quite impressive, so why not? Well, from the moment this young girl opened her mouth it was obvious that her intelligence, like her voice, was way beyond her years. I hung up the phone that day and thought, “It’s only a matter of time.”

Since that time, I have kept in touch with Moriah and her amazing family. They are a true exhibition of love, support, and integrity. Her family is one that includes ethnic and social diversity without losing sight of love and respect. With those family ideals, Moriah has become an intense, loving, caring, emotional, gritty, tenacious, ambitious, and confident young woman who wears her heart on her sleeve.

She has done solo work over the years and was a contestant on the hit TV series The Voice, but it wasn’t until the COVID lockdown that she found her musical soulmates. She found young female musicians with immense talent and strong family values like hers, and together they decided to call themselves Plush. They got signed to a record label, got a Grammy nominated producer to record an album with them, and have booked some huge tour dates with major recording artists. Their debut single now sits at #27 on the Billboard charts. It’s my guess that by October, when the entire album finds its release, Plush will be a name that everyone will be familiar with.

It was only a matter of time, and that time is now.
