Aug. 30, 2021 / Amersale Drive Shooting Update
Naperville Police are following up on strong leads as they continue to actively investigate
the shooting that occurred around 2:11 p.m. yesterday, Aug. 29, on the 600 block of Amersale Drive on the City’s northwest side.
The current medical conditions of the two shooting victims are as follows: an 18-year-old male victim from Naperville is in critical condition and a 17-year-old male from Aurora was treated at a local hospital and released.
The Naperville Police Department is seeking anyone who saw or heard anything about this incident.
Additionally, we are asking any person or business that has surveillance video in the area to contact the Naperville Police Department. Original Post, Sun., Aug. 29, 2021 / On Sunday, August 29, 2021, at approximately 2:11PM, the Naperville Police Department responded to the 600 block of Amersale Drive (north of North Aurora Road and west of Route 59) to a report of shots fired. When officers arrived, there was no one on scene.
A very short time later, the Aurora Police Department responded to the area of McCoy Drive and Vaughn Drive after receiving a 911 call from the victims of the shooting.
There were two male victims that were located wounded and both were transported to area hospitals. Their medical condition is currently unknown.
The initial investigation suggests that the parties agreed to meet at the location of the shooting to make a transaction and got into an altercation. The exact relationship of the offender and victims and the nature of the transaction remain under investigation.
The offender fled in a dark colored sedan in an unknown direction of travel. He is described as a male, black, in his 20’s.
