Naperville Responds ‘Strength and Honor’ Luncheon is set for Sept. 8

-

Join Naperville Responds For Veterans when they host their annual “Strength and Honor” Luncheon beginning at noon on Wednesday, September 8, 2021 to honor and give thanks to Veterans.

The Luncheon will be held at Bobak’s Signature Events in Woodridge, 6440 Double Eagle Dr. An 11AM arrival and check-in is scheduled with lunch served promptly at noon.

This year’s featured speaker is U.S. Navy Air Reserve Veteran Jeffrey Veesenmeyer. He grew up in the Chicago area and joined the Naval Air Reserve in 1968. He served six years in Photographic Air Intelligence PT2/c at Glenview Naval Air Station in Illinois.

Veesenmeyer graduated from Northern Illinois University with a degree in Photo Journalism in 1974. His career included advertising, direct mail marketing and printing sales. His journalism degree gave him the tools for developing and writing company and client newsletters. Veesenmeyer has published three WWII Navy books. “Kamikaze Destroyer” began while researching family genealogy to learn more about his uncle who was killed on the USS Hadley. “Kamikaze Terror” is a continuation of the air/sea battles at Okinawa. His third book is “Jack Clifton’s WWII Memoir,” which was written for the Clifton family using Jack’s secret diary from USS The Sullivans. Veesenmeyer lives with his wife near Madison, Wisconsin.

The luncheon is free of charge for Veterans and one guest (spouse, family member, care-taker, or good friend). Veterans wishing to attend are asked to RSVP through the Naperville Responds website.

The cost is $50 for individuals and sponsorship opportunities are available. For more info and to purchase tickets, visit www.napervilleresponds.org.

All current and applicable COVID-19 safety protocols will be followed.
