-

At its annual installation dinner in June, new officers of the Naperville Noon Lions Club and Foundation were installed for the 2021/2022 fiscal year by Lion Jim Kizer, Lions District 1-J 1st Vice Governor and member of the Darien Lions Club.

Lion Bob Hull takes over as President after a successful year under the leadership of Lion Donna Kearney. Hull is a twenty-year member of the Club and previously served as President in 2014/15. In addition, to serving as President this fiscal year, he is also chair of the Clubs Publicity Committee and member of the Turkey Trot Committee.

Other officers installed include immediate past President Donna Kearney, Vice President Linda Strugalla, Vice President Tom Garvey, Secretary Jane Bowers and Treasurer Bill Bleecker.

The Naperville Noon Lions serves children and adults with eye examinations, eye glasses and hearing examinations. Services are provided at no cost to those individuals you cannot afford this type of service. In the past fiscal year 200 individuals were provided services at a cost of approximately $50,000. In addition, grants and donations are provided to other organizations for research and education for low vision and hearing-impaired individuals.

An ombudsman is Scandinavian in origin dating back to Viking times; and refers to a community representative; usually acting independently on behalf of an organization, body of elected officials, or civic group. Thanks Scandinavia for inventing ombudsman.
