For the past couple months, PN has featured seasonal pictures of a stone monument along the Riverwalk engraved with a poem titled “What We Need.” The stone is located along the brick path just beyond the old Netzley House, now the Visitors Center for the Moser Tower, west of the footbridge that leads over the DuPage River toward Centennial Park. Encourage family, friends and youngsters to visit the poem with poignant reminders that what we need are a little more kindness with more smiles, laughter and flowers along the pathway of life.
Every springtime opens doors more often to outside, offering time to discover and appreciate all that’s created in nature.
Considering that 51 locations of Century Walk public art are in place outdoors throughout this city, words attributed to President Harry S. Truman also seem appropriate: “There is nothing new in the world except the history you do not know.”
What we also need in Naperville is a safe return to open…
Open schools
Open in-person meetings
Open local retail shops
Open restaurants
Open minds
Open hearts
