WDSRA: Summertime FUN!

-

Spring may be in the air, but we are in full swing planning summer programs.

Count on making this summer memorable for your child with sports, games, crafts and friends. The swim portion of camps and programs will be dependent on which facilities are open and what the protocols in place are at that time. But without a doubt, the fun and excitement will be there every day.

Your options include traditional WDSRA Summer Day camps, WDSRA/school district co-op camps, inclusion assistance for camps offered through the Naperville Park District, or traditional WDSRA summer programs.

WDSRA Summer Day Camps cater to ages 3 to 21, are offered at a variety of lengths and feature a variety of activities. We have camps in Naperville, Wheaton, West Chicago and Carol Stream. If you are you looking for some late summer fun, be sure to look at our extended Camp. Activities may include fields trips, swimming, music, theme days, and more. You have the option of morning and/or afternoon sessions.

Co-op camps provide student/campers attending morning summer school an opportunity to spend the afternoon involved in fun camp activities. In District 203, we have Summer Spectacular for ages 7 thru 21. In District 204, it’s Camp Fantastik for ages 5-12. Both camps run Monday through Thursday and include transportation from school to camp. Specifically designed for ages 13-21 is Camp TIA (teens in action).  This camp runs mid-morning to midafternoon Monday thru Thursday.

Our Summer Day Camps brochure is currently online at www.wdsra.com. Registration takes place April 12-16.

And of course, if there is a Naperville Park District camp that you are looking at, WDSRA inclusion services are available. Simply indicate your interest on the Naperville Park District registration. Camps offered through the Naperville Park District can be found at  www.napervilleparks.org.

The broader Summer Program brochure will be online April 26.  Registration will be May 3-7. We are offering both virtual and in-person programs to accommodate every comfort level. You’ll be able to enjoy sports like softball and golf; popular programs like bowling and bocce; creative programs like art and karaoke; and of course exciting special events and social clubs!

For the broader Summer Programs, we offer real-time registration for virtual programs anytime May 3-7. There will be a lottery for the in-person registration going on May 3-7. This is allowing us to maintain the proper social distancing ratios required.

For more information on WDSRA Summer Programs, visit www.wdsra.com.

Though programs may look a little different as we all follow social distancing and mask wearing protocols, the one thing that isn’t changing is the fun that goes into every program.

*Please note that all activities will be dependent on the protocols in place at that time and that the camp dates may change due to a possible extended school year.
