Naperville Art League announces its latest art show, “We the People…honoring veterans, active and reserve military” is open to the public and runs through November 17 at the Naperville Fine Art Center & Gallery, 508 N. Center Street, in Naperville.

Artists include Naperville Art League members, community artists, military, and military family participants. Artists were invited to write a brief statement about their pieces.

“The stories are so touching!” said NAL president Sally Sharp. “Respect and pride for America’s military is evident. Some pieces, like a bust of a soldier done by his mother, and a collage of memorabilia, bring the viewer close to the emotions of the artists.”

Naperville Art League holds a new art show each month.

“The schedule, which includes Veterans’ Day this year, allowed us to open the submissions to everyone, young and old.”

Art by the youth of our community includes a painted shoe depicting military events, and a crayon portrait titled “My Uncle is a Marine.”

Nearly 50 pieces of original art by local artists are on display.
