Express support for Turning Pointe

-

At Turning Pointe, faster – except when responding to a student in crisis – is rarely better. Team Turning Pointe typically takes care to study and research next steps on most decisions. Then typically those decisions have to be vetted by key stakeholders. This slower approach was critical in building a strong foundation from which we can launch new programs. From adding classrooms for different age groups or abilities in the CN Day School or pilot programs in our Foglia Family Foundation Adult Services; we care for one student at a time to ensure students make measurable progress.

There are only three instances when faster at Turning Pointe really is better.

One is in October, when we race pumpkins. Yes, we race pumpkins on wheels. You may be surprised by how fast they roll. Thanks to pumpkin race kits built by students, you can race a pumpkin down a hill or ramp! It is a fun, inclusive endeavor that allows our students to gain employability skills by building the kits. The Pumpkin Race tradition is a favorite and while our public event will be missed this year, our students will still race at school and we hope you will as well. You can purchase kits online at www.turningpointeautismfoundation.org and upload pictures of your pumpkins and races on social media.

Faster is also better (or so I am told), when you are behind the wheel of Motor Trend’s 2020 Car of the Year. A torch red Chevy Corvette Stingray screams “speed.” You can see for yourself by visiting Chevy of Naperville. A beautiful new Corvette is on display there and can be yours if you purchase a raffle ticket before December 3rd. This generous donation from Chevy of Naperville is allowing Turning Pointe to raise critical funds this year as our budget was impacted by COVID-19. Your 1 in 2,000 chance to win this beautiful car allows us to keep our mission going and growing strong. The car specifics, official raffle rules and tickets can be purchased at www.turningpointeautismfoundation.org.

Chevy of Naperville has a tradition of supporting Turning Pointe. Our programs, our pumpkin races, our coffee enterprise and now this once-in-a-lifetime raffle. The owners and team at Chevy maintain a community service mindset. As we have seen so many neighbors struggling the past five months, it is reassuring that Chevy of Naperville is continuing their compassion in action. Special thanks to the entire Chevy of Naperville family.

The last way faster is better is in how you will react to these opportunities! We hope swiftly.
