I have to believe that no one predicted that this Halloween everyone would be wearing a mask! But here we are and while normally a special day of seeing children in their costumes providing candy at the door, at some point in the day all of us will be wearing a mask as we adapt to what we need to do to keep each other safe.
While it might be fun to wear a special mask on Halloween, what we likely will wear probably won’t be as scary as what have seen in the past. However, masks will do their job and help keep us safe during these most interesting times.
Thinking about Halloween and the holidays that follow as we approach the end of the year, our challenge is to make these celebrations for everyone about whom we care both fun and safe, taking into account the virus that has affected us all. I’d like to take a moment to thank all of those individuals and families who have taken special steps to help those we serve during these times. It is truly appreciated!
We are all getting used to the fact that things are going to be different this year and Halloween especially will be unique.
Nearly everything has changed since March and the likelihood of any return to normalcy in 2020 is slim. However, our approach here at Little Friends for all of the special holidays will be to make them as enjoyable as we can for those we serve. Having a positive attitude and making the most of every opportunity is what we will do. And to everyone that helps us in the future, thank you in advance for any and all that you do.
I do hope that you get to do the same thing with your families in the time ahead. We’ll be thinking good thoughts and send them your way!
