Turkey Trot goes virtual

-

For more than 23 years, the Naperville Noon Lions Turkey Trot 5K has welcomed citizens of Naperville and area communities as they join with their friends and families to enjoy a little exercise before celebrating the Thanksgiving holiday.

Due to public health risks brought on by the COVID-19, as well as the restrictions placed on gatherings by the State of Illinois, the Naperville Noon Lions are not able to hold an in-person race.

The Naperville Noon Lions invite you to keep your holiday traditions by joining the Virtual Turkey Trot 5K.

Pick your favorite course and run it any time between November 14-29, 2020. Send in your results and photos and they’ll celebrate you on their Facebook and Instagram pages. Full results will be available on the race website in early December.
Register online at www.napervilleturkeytrot.com.

All registered participants will receive a long sleeve technical running shirt, and a fun, special edition 2020 race decal. Register by November 1 to receive your race packet in the mail by November 14. If you register by November 10, they’ll do their best to get you your race packet by Thanksgiving.

Prices include postage and are:

  • $25 for ages 9 and under
  • $30 for ages 10 to 14
  • $35 for ages 15 and up

Visit www.napervilleturkeytrot.com to get full details and to register.

All proceeds from the Turkey Trot are donated within Naperville and support children and seniors with vision and hearing care.

Note! As has become tradition, Quigley’s Irish Pub, located at 43 E. Jefferson Ave., in downtown Naperville hopes to be open for cheers (and beverages only) from 8AM to noon Thanksgiving Day during the annual Turkey Trot. Last call at 11AM. All local safety protocols will apply.

An ombudsman is Scandinavian in origin dating back to Viking times; and refers to a community representative; usually acting independently on behalf of an organization, body of elected officials, or civic group. Thanks Scandinavia for inventing ombudsman.
