Word of Mouth – Our New Routine

-

Our office is planning to resume limited hours for pain, essential dental treatments, perio maintenance and routine care.

The limiting factor is whether you feel comfortable coming to the office. We will continue to limit our schedule to one patient at a time in the office with a 10-minute gap between the start of one appointment and the end of the next appointment. We ask that the patient enters the office at their scheduled time. We are asking drivers or family members to wait in their cars while the patient is being treated unless it is absolutely necessary to come into the office. If demand exceeds the available times on Tuesdays and Thursdays, then I will increase office availability.

I would like to remind you that some problems can get much worse over the course of several weeks and are much easier and quicker to treat if addressed earlier rather than later. I would be glad to discuss any concerns or questions and do not hesitate to email, call, or text me on my cell phone at (630) 362-3486.

We are also working on web consultation capability. Please call to arrange.

In these times of widespread concern about disease transmission, we would like to assure you that we always take the utmost care with our disinfection procedures. We believe that it is important to maintain dental health as well as general health and the two are not mutually exclusive when managed properly. In addition to the normally expected measures to keep instruments sterile and all surfaces disinfected we would like you to know that we also incorporate these additional procedures into our routine:

  • Use of rubber dam wherever possible to eliminate aerosols created during procedures.
Use of high volume suction to reduce aerosols when rubber dam is not feasible.
  • Use of surgical microscope to reduce procedure time and increase working distances.
Use of Laser (when available) to eliminate aerosols and disinfect tissues.
  • Diligent monitoring and maintenance of all surfaces touched by staff and patients and waiting area.
  • Only one patient in the office at a time, no overlap, every patient is checked for fever.
    Surgical masks for all staff.
  • Social distancing. While difficult for treatment, we are asking everyone to maintain this important spacing guideline.

We ask that you do your part by informing us if you presently have any of the following symptoms of a possible active and transmissible disease, or if you have been tested for Coronavirus. We understand that most of these symptoms are usually just part of allergies or sinusitis, and if that is the case, please let us know. Symptoms do not mean that you are untreatable. It’s just that if you have fever, shortness of breath, fatigue and dry cough, we might need to be more cautious.

Be healthy and be safe.
