UPDATE, March 11, 2020 / The Naperville Area Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with the City of Naperville, will postpone the annual State of the City address until Mon., May 18, 2020. This decision was made out of an abundance of caution. The Chamber wants its members to feel safe and comfortable when attending Chamber events and have decided, in the interest of public health, to encourage and practice the CDC’s recommendation of social distancing.

Please continue to read trusted resources about how to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and what to do if you suspect you may be affected. (Earlier today, March 11, 2020, the World Health Organization made the assessment that Coronavirus or COVID-19 can be characterized as a pandemic.)

The Chamber will issue refunds to any business or individual who is unable to join us on our new date of May 18, 2020. Please email chamber@naperville.net with questions regarding refunds.

Original Post, March 4, 2020 / The 2020 State of the City Address hosted by the Naperville Area Chamber of Commerce (NACC) will be held on Monday, March 16, 2020 at the Chicago Marriott Naperville. This highly anticipated annual address by Naperville Mayor Steve Chirico serves as a recap of the year’s significant achievements, marks milestones, and identifies programs and initiatives the community can expect in the coming year.

Now in its 30th year, the State of the City address has become a landmark event for the Mayors of Naperville and an opportunity for business and civic leaders, as well as the community to further engage in their local government.  “Giving the State of the City address each year before the Naperville Area Chamber of Commerce membership and guests is a highlight and privilege,” Mayor Steve Chirico said.

The NACC believes in providing quality programming that supports their overall mission to engage the community by being a resource.  Kaylin Risvold, President and CEO of the NACC is proud of this annual event and the partnership that’s been forged with the city.

“The NACC is fortunate to have a fantastic relationship with the City of Naperville,” noted Risvold in the news release. “It is through this long-standing partnership that we can continue to come together to advocate for our community businesses. This signature showcase of our town is something we are proud to present to the community.”

Looking forward to this year’s address, Mayor Chirico also provided a written statement.

“There is no shortage of exciting news to share from this past year,” said the Mayor. “And as we enter a new decade, there is no better time to come together and recommit to reinvestment in our community. That reinvestment takes many forms, as attendees will hear, and is the foundation for Naperville’s continued success in 2020 and beyond.”

In addition, Mayor Chirico will recognize city officials and employees for their contributions that support Naperville.

Event registration and networking begin at 11AM with the program and lunch beginning at 11:30AM.  Register online at www.naperville.net.  Due to the popularity of this luncheon, early registration is recommended.  Walk-in registration will not be available.
