Make Goals Instead of Resolutions

-

It’s that time of year again. Auld Lang Sang, Jingle Bells, Drummers Drumming and Resolutions. I am not a big fan of New Year’s Resolutions, but a couple years ago I resolved to never be late… Being late is inexcusable… I was late once due to a flat tire. Sent a text-photo of my tire-changing skills.

Remember what your 2019 resolutions were? Nobody remembers. You probably didn’t write them down. If you must, resolve to set some 2020 sales goals. Be sure to make them SMART Goals, include a deadline and write them down.

Everyone wants to exercise and get in shape. (Round is not the right shape.)

Other goals people might include: Earn a promotion at work. Get more sleep. Spend more time with the family. Be more prayerful. Obtain financial freedom. Swim with the dolphins. Volunteer more frequently. Jump out of a plane. Build a website. Get a tattoo. Stop procrastinating. Write a book. Take a road trip.

Sales goals include: Get organized. Start an accountability group. Be early to meetings. Join a networking group. Make 10 phone calls before 10AM. Obtain two new customers a month. Increase revenue by 20 percent. Plan the work; then work the plan. Nothing can stop you now!

2020 is already underway! Your goals are set. You’re on track to have the best first quarter ever. Nice job!

Make goals instead of resolutions and Heat Up Your Sales.
