The Naperville Park District will hold its 13th annual “Pennies for Pies” drive from November 1-22 to help provide pumpkin pies for holiday meals through Naperville’s Loaves & Fishes Community Services.

Residents and visitors to Park District facilities are encouraged to donate small change (or make larger donations) that will be used to purchase pumpkin pies to benefit Loaves & Fishes’ Thanksgiving dinner initiative for residents in need.

Donations accepted at five locations / Nov. 1-22

  • Naperville Park District Administration Building, 320 W. Jackson Ave. (Open M-F: 8AM-4PM)
  • Alfred Rubin Riverwalk Community Center, 305 W. Jackson Ave. (Open M-F: 8:30AM-5PM)
  • Fort Hill Activity Center, 20 Fort Hill Dr. (Open M-F: 5AM-10PM / Sat.: 6AM-7PM / Sun.: 7AM-6PM)

  • Knoch Knolls Nature Center, 320 Knoch Knolls Rd. (Open M-F: 9AM-4PM / Sat.: 10AM-3PM / Sun.: 11AM-3PM)

“Pennies for Pies began years ago in our preschool to learn about what it means when you have many small donations that come together to do something larger,” explained Brad Wilson, Director of Recreation and Facilities.

Last year, Loaves and Fishes received a delivery of 120 pumpkin pies from the Pennies for Pies initiative.

“Loaves & Fishes is so grateful to receive this wonderful gift from the Naperville Park District,” said Eric Gardner, Loaves & Fishes’ director of philanthropy. “Our clients are really appreciative of the pies during the holiday season.”
