Art Talk – October is Arts DuPage Month

-

What are you doing in October? If you are game, Arts DuPage invites you to explore the world of arts and entertainment right here in DuPage County. The DuPage Foundation initiative partnered with regional artists and arts organizations and created Arts DuPage Month (ADM), a 31-day celebration of local arts and culture. All ADM events are enhanced with special twists and incentives to give attendees high-quality, unique, and fun-filled experiences.

Ticket discounts, guest appearances, and backstage tours are among the perks that have been paired with ADM offerings. Art walks, exhibits, and receptions have been produced expressly for this movement to help put the flourishing local art scene in the spotlight. By upping the ante, Arts DuPage aims to attract not only art lovers but also those ambivalent towards the arts to show them that there is an exciting world of arts activities waiting to be discovered.

ADM events and details are listed on artsdupage.org, a comprehensive resource for anyone seeking arts and cultural experiences. By entering the special codes listed on the site, you can get a $20 discount on all ticket purchases for Drury Lane Theatre’s production of “The Color Purple” and 20 percent savings on “Newsies” at Aurora’s Paramount Theater. Codes for events closer to home afford you discounts for Herb Alpert and Lani Hall’s performance at North Central College’s Wentz Concert Hall. Bach to Rock, Pinot’s Palette, Naperville Art League, Naper Settlement, and Summer Place Theatre are all on board with receptions, game nights, exhibits, and discounts.

If you are still lukewarm on the idea of jumping into the art scene, think about this: the arts are a fundamental component of a healthy community, strengthening it socially, educationally, and economically. When you support the arts, you are not only doing something rewarding for yourself, you are contributing to the welfare of the region. By attending a museum, theater, or gallery, you help to ensure the future of the entity and the employees who work there. So why not embrace the benefits of Arts DuPage Month and immerse yourself in the arts?
