Since purchasing Dog Patch, it’s been a goal of my wife, Margaret, and mine to invest in our community. So we donate. We sponsor teams, we give to just about everything including other rescues. Lots of other rescues. I’m active in Indiebound Naperville, a group of independent business owners and managers. I show up. When I believe in something I show up. Council meetings, presentations, school projects. They all matter.
Being privileged enough to own Dog Patch and the building, we had hoped that we could contribute something big to our city. We exist because of this community‘s support. We want to pay it back.
Through a serious misadventure, we found ourselves with an opportunity. A freshly painted, pretty big wall. We wanted a mural.
It’s a long serendipitous circumstance that led an internationally-known muralist (street artist) into Dog Patch. Even more interesting is that when he left, he then came back in and asked if we ever thought about putting a mural on our wall. Well, yes.
Located on the east side of Dog Patch, 1108 East Ogden Ave., an awesome mural featuring the message of our mission now enhances our exterior wall. Swing by. I hope you like it.
Above / By day or by evening, the new mural at Dog Patch Pet & Feed shares the story of business owner Greg Gordon to help find forever homes for cats and dogs. Adopt!
