Things to Do Around Naperville this Weekend – July 26-28

-

Above / Just as tomatoes, potatoes and corn, sunflowers are native American plants. The cheerful bright yellow flowers display a behavior called “heliotropism” when they’re young. That means the young flowers face east in the morning and follow sunlight as the Earth moves throughout the day. What’s also interesting to know is that when sunflowers grow and get heavier during seed production, their stems stiffen, preventing the mature flower heads from following the sun. Smile for sunflowers whatever direction they face!
