The Naperville Municipal Band performed in Central Park on Thursday, July 18, honoring clarinetist Vicki Keller for 50 years of service to the band that has been conducted by her husband, Ron Keller, since 1966. Concert-goers (and a few canines!) enjoyed many songs selected by Keller that included John Philip Sousa’s “University of Nebraska March” and featured the clarinet section with soloist Marty Rench. The upbeat program led the audience of faithful family, friends and band fans along the path of Vicki Keller’s life in music.
Accolades to recognize Vicki Keller’s dedication included letters and proclamations sent by elected officials from Naperville, Springfield and Washington, D.C.
The Thursday Night Summer Concert Series continues at 7:30PM July 25. The final concert of the 2019 season will begin at 7:30PM Aug. 15, in Central Park.
