The AAUW Naperville Area 50th Used Book and Media Sale is a great place for the entire family to find great reads, digital entertainment, and music for the summer. Hardcover/paperback books of all kinds for all ages. DVDs and vinyl records of all kinds. Special collection of World War II books. All sale proceeds go to scholarships, fellowships, and other programs for women and girls. AAUW Naperville Area’s mission is to provide gender equity for women and girls. Public Naperville Trolley Tours every Friday!

One-Hour Historic Trolley Tour of Naperville! Every Friday at 11AM during June, July, and August. (no tour on 8/16). $18 per person. Children’s 30 minute Trolley ride! Every Friday at 10:15AM during June, July, and August (not available on 8/16). $8 per person. The Summer Place, Naperville’s community theatre, is proud to to present ‘South Pacific,’ the Rodgers and Hammerstein musical celebrating its 70th anniversary this year. James Michner’s novel inspired this tale of gender roles, prejudice and love and remains musically enthralling, emotionally gripping, and culturally relevant. Performances are June 7-8 and June 14-15 with both evening and matinee shows. Tickets are available online or at the box office. Weather forecasts are predicting strong winds up to 60 miles per hour this evening. For the safety of our patrons, the Naper Nights concert scheduled for tonight, Saturday, June 15, is canceled, due to incoming inclement weather. Naper Settlement regrets any inconvenience this may cause.

In conjunction with the Naperville Heritage Society’s 50th Anniversary, Naper Nights sets the stage for three summer weekends in June, July, and August of nonstop music and celebration. Visitors are invited to experience six nights of rock while enjoying cold craft brews and wine, delicious food, and music for the generations. June 14’s line-up celebrates the 50th anniversary of The Weed Ladies of the Naperville Heritage Society. To kick-off the series, Naper Nights honors these women with a night of powerful female music. Landslide, a Fleetwood Mac tribute, will return to the Naper Nights stage to open for the Goddesses of Rock. This female powerhouse cover band features the musical stylings of Janis Joplin, Tina Turner, Madonna, Gwen Stefani, Heart, Lady Gaga, and more. June 15 ends opening weekend with a night of classic rock. The Doors of Chicago, a The Doors tribute, will open for Rocks Off, a 9-piece The Rolling Stones tribute with horn section. Weather permitting, enjoy a leisurely stroll on Jackson Avenue along the Riverwalk, while browsing as many as 100 classic cars in all makes and models. Free event. Only registered cars will be accepted day of car show.

Casey’s Foods located at Naperville Plaza will be firing up its grill every Saturday and Sunday from 11AM to 2PM through October, weather permitting. Choose from a variety of options, including burgers, brats, tacos or the weekly special. Add a dollar and get chips and a drink. It’s great food, at a good price, in a fun atmosphere.
