While you would never know it by the weather this past month, it is now officially summer! Starting in June Naperville’s nonprofit television station will bring you a variety of both seasonal and new programming – all focused on your community!
On Sat., June 8, NCTV17 will broadcast North Central College’s commencement ceremony LIVE from the Residential/Recreation Center. Congratulations to all the Cardinals in the Class of 2019, including our very own NCTV17 marketing intern, Jared Collier!
The Naperville Municipal Band will be back on Thursday nights for their summer concert series. Starting with “The Greatest Generation” on June 6, NCTV17 will broadcast a number of concerts throughout the summer LIVE on air and online via simulcast.
At 8AM on Tues., June 11, the station will launch a new series, Behind the Red Circle in partnership with TEDxNaperville. The TEDx program gives local communities the opportunity to create their own TED experiences. Host and curator Arthur Zards sits down with the Chicago area’s most original and visionary thinkers to further explore their ideas. First up is Dr. Alison Escalante, a Naperville pediatrician, who is on a mission to help parents step out of the culture of anxiety (the “Shouldstorm”) to reconnect with themselves and their kids.
Dana Being Dana will be back on June 20 at 9PM with the second episode titled, “The Show Up Show.” Host Dana Davenport will be talking with guests about ways people ‘show up’ in the lives of people they care about.
On June 22, the NCTV17 sports crew will be back at Nike Park to cover the Naperville Little League Baseball City Championships for both the Supreme and Majors divisions. Both games will be rebroadcast in their entirety on the channel, starting June 23.
