Pet Words of Wisdom – Thanks to first responders!

-

Well, we had an interesting 24 hours while I was thinking about my pet words for June.
We had a busy Saturday. Yes, the store was busy.

Around 2:30PM there was the loudest noise I’ve ever heard at the store. A vehicle had just crashed through the wall of Dog Patch. While it was way too close for comfort, I’m grateful and happy to say no one was hurt. This aisle is a heavily trafficked area by dogs and people alike. This accident could have been tragic.

In the midst of a crisis, people step up. The City of Naperville is pretty great in the midst of a little crisis – from the 911 operator to every single person I came into contact with at both the fire and police departments. We happen to have a top notch group of professionals that are very reassuring when one is trying to wrap your head around a 4×4 hole in the wall of your building.

I can’t thank all who responded enough. Thank you to my insurance agent for his reassurance during our phone call.

Friends that reached out – I am touched by your offers of help of all kinds. This is a wonderful community. We should appreciate it more during the good times.

We will fix the hole. Like everything else at Dog Patch, heads down, we have work to do to keep up. The animals don’t care about the little stuff. We care about them big time. Back to work!

Let me shout out that great KOI, POND PLANTS, FOOD, SUPPLIES are here now! Great animals are available for adoption every day!
