Special Notes / North Central College Class of 2019

  • 40 percent of the graduates are first-generation, meaning neither their mother nor father graduated from college
  • First-generation graduate Nebil Mohammed, an accounting major, will have 20 family members supporting him at graduation, including 10 from his native Ethiopia and others from Canada and Switzerland
  • Dhruvil Patel, an accounting major, graduates as the cross country and track programs’ all-time leader with 13 All-American awards, including six national titles
  • Only 40 percent of teen moms finish high school and fewer than 2 percent complete college by age 30. Yet North Central graduates Adrianna Martinez, an entrepreneurship and small business management major, and Cassandra Wingert, an organizational communication major, are defying those odds, as both will walk across the stage to receive their diplomas this Saturday.
