The Naperville Jaycees have announced the recipients of the 41st Annual Distinguished Service Awards that will be presented during festivities beginning at 6PM on Thursday, May 2, 2019 in the Pavilion at Meson Sabika in Naperville.
The Distinguished Service Awards recognize local individuals and organizations for their community spirit and dedication to Naperville with awards in the following categories: Business, Public Employee, Community Leader, Educator, Not For Profit Leader or Organization, Student Volunteer, Healthcare Professional and the Charles “Chuck” Bueche Lifetime Achievement Award.
Nominations were accepted through April 12, 2019. On April 18, the Naperville Jaycees announced this year’s honorees.
2019 Distinguished Service Award Honorees
2019 Charles “Chuck” Bueche Lifetime Achievement Award: Patti Boheme
The Charles “Chuck” Bueche Lifetime Achievement Award is the highest honor presented at the annual Distinguished Service Awards dinner, given in memory of one of the Jaycees’ founders, Chuck Bueche.
For 2019, Patti Boheme will be recognized for her lifetime of achievement. Boheme is Executive Vice-President of the Little Friends Center for Autism, and is known nationwide for her innovation in providing services for individuals of all ages with autism and other intellectual disabilities. For more than 30 years, Boheme has led the development of several service models for infants and toddlers, children/adolescents and adults at Little Friends, Inc.
Boheme has authored several picture systems for teaching that are used throughout the nation.
During this month of Worldwide Autism Awareness, it’s especially rewarding to announce that Patti Boheme has been selected to receive the Charles “Chuck” Bueche Lifetime Achievement Award, joining other dedicated individuals who have been recognized for making a difference in the community since the first DSAs were presented four decades ago.

Naperville Jaycees
The Naperville Jaycees is a nonprofit service organization with more than 120 young people dedicated to personal development through community service. The organization provides Naperville area residents with the opportunity to better themselves and to grow personally and professionally while giving through community service and fund raising efforts. Through their fund raising efforts such as Jaycees Last Fling over Labor Day weekend, the Naperville Jaycees are able to donate funds to nonprofit organizations in the community and throughout DuPage County.
