Near the end of December, we announced that North Central College had reached an agreement with Little Friends to acquire the property that has been our Naperville campus since the 1970’s. The opportunity to move to a new location that will enable us to have all three of our schools under one roof will provide a wonderful benefit to the students we help today and even more so for our students in the future. Our new facility will be less than 3 miles away, as our address for our schools and administrative offices will be moving to Warrenville in a facility located on Diehl Road.
Needless to say, we are excited about the move and know it will provide us with an opportunity to expand our services and help even more families who need the support we provide. However, we’ve heard that our move to Warrenville is being interpreted as a move out of Naperville entirely. By no means is this the case.
Little Friends has been in existence since 1965 and over the years has grown to become an organization that helps children as young as 18 months old through adulthood. The continuum of support excluding the first 18 months of a child’s life is covered with all that we do. Related to our adult support, we own or manage 38 different properties that support over 100 children and adults. The majority of these properties is in Naperville, with no plans to change this in any way.
In addition, we have operated the Serendipity resale shop on Jefferson Avenue since 1979. There are no plans to move this store as well.
While Little Friends over the years has expanded in a way where we support individuals from communities all over the Chicago land area, our roots that touched so many lives started in Naperville. We’re expanding our facility to help even more people in the time ahead, knowing a large part of what we do remains in town and a part of this community.
