As someone who immigrated to America, spent many years working on a green card as a ‘U.S. permanent resident’ and then applied and received U.S. citizenship just in time to vote in the Presidential election of 1996, the topic of voting is near and dear to my heart.
The right to vote is something we should never take for granted and we should exercise that right responsibly by being educated about the candidates and the issues on the ballot.
As you prepare to cast your vote on April 2nd in the Consolidated General Election, NCTV17 invites you to get to know the candidates running for Naperville Mayor, Naperville City Council, Indian Prairie School District 204 Board, and Naperville Community Unit School District 203 Board.
Recently NCTV17 sat down for a TV interview with each of the mayoral and council candidates at a “Meet the Candidates” event hosted by the Naperville Area Chamber of Commerce. The station also invited the candidates seeking a position on either of the two school district boards to stop by NCTV17 and answer some questions on camera.
These interviews will be airing on Channel 17 throughout March and will be available to view on-demand starting March 5th at www.nctv17.com/decision-2019-meet-the-candidates.
