For the tenth consecutive year, the Naperville Noon Lions Club supported Feed My Starving Children’s “Feed the Need” event held at North Central College. Over the two days of this event, volunteers hand packed more than 1.3 million meals which are scientifically formulated and distributed to undernourished children in a network of more than 60 countries.
The Lions provided many volunteer hours hand packing meals in addition to contributing $7,500 for meal ingredients. This year’s financial donation will provide ingredients for approximately 34,000 meals. Over its ten years of hard work the Lions have contributed over $60,000 for this event.
Feed My Starving Children’s Chairman Bob Huber thanked the Lions for their many years of support and stated we cannot hold this event without the support received by many organizations such as the Lions Club. Lions Club President Jim Woodring said the Lions are honored to be able to be a part of this outstanding event and all the good work they do to fight hunger around the world.
The Naperville Noon Lions Club is a member club of Lions Clubs International (LCI). LCI is the world’s largest service organization, with over 1.4 million members and over 44,000-member clubs worldwide. The Naperville Noon Lions Club consists of enthusiastic men and women who provide many volunteer hours each year to support the Lions missions locally.
