Naperville Jaycees announce contestants for ‘Rock the Mic!!’ on April 27

Above / Six lip sync performers will take the stage to compete in the Jaycees contest on April 27, 2019. 

The Naperville Jaycees have announced the contestants for their third annual lip syncing contest “Rock the Mic!!”, scheduled for Sat., April 27, 2019, at Center Stage Theater.

In an homage to a show which airs on “Spike TV,” the Jaycees have enlisted the star power of local celebrity Danielle Tufano, of 95.9 The River, as host to the performers. The event is two rounds of lip sync performances with a side of fierce competition in which only one contestant can prevail, organizers said in a press release.

Vote for favorite ‘Sync-lebrity’

In partnership with NCTV17, the Jaycees will ask members of the audience to vote for their favorite “sync-lebrity” at Center Stage Theater, located at 1665 Quincy Ave., west of Ogden Ave. 

Doors open at 6PM prior to live audience taping.  Additional games with audience participation and a chance to win raffle prizes will be included. A complimentary Meet & Greet after party including light snacks will be sponsored by Pepe’s Mexican Cantina

Tickets for this show now can be purchased online for $30 each via https://www.naperjaycees.org/event/rock-the-micpresented-by-the-naperville-jaycees/.

Also, a live NCTV17 broadcast Watch Party is set for 7PM Monday, May 6, 2019, at Aurelio’s Pizzeria, located at 1975 Springbrook Drive in Naperville.  A portion of the proceeds generated will benefit both NCTV17 and the Naperville Jaycees’ mission.

Naperville Jaycees

The Naperville Jaycees is a nonprofit service organization with more than 100 young persons dedicated to providing Naperville area residents with the opportunity to better themselves and to grow personally and professionally while giving through community service and fundraising efforts.

Annual events include Rock the Mic, Easter Egg Hunt on the Saturday before Easter, Lobster Day on the Saturday before Mother’s Day and countless other worthwhile projects that positively impact the community.

The group also organizes and staffs the Last Fling in close cooperation with the City of Naperville, the Naperville Park District, numerous Naperville community organizations and hundreds of volunteers. Proceeds from the Last Fling are given to other nonprofit organizations in Naperville and surrounding communities. Over the past two decades, the Naperville Jaycees have raised and donated more than two million dollars to various organizations in the surrounding communities.

Editor’s Note / The service organization is also selling commemorative paver bricks with special messages for Jaycees Park along the Riverwalk near the Naperville Municipal Center. Jaycees Park is expected to be complete by Memorial Day 2019.
