Above / This week Kris Dornan, Brook DeSabio, Amber Enke and Mike Leitner were on hand to explain the launch of a new fundraiser, a progressive raffle, that aims to create a million-dollar jackpot for some lucky individual. Three days a week, parents from Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic School will be at Quigley’s Irish Pub selling $5 tickets for the Queen of Hearts Raffle.
With memories of reading stories in the daily newspapers about Queen of Hearts fundraisers organized by service organizations that sold as many as 300 tickets a week, spiking the jackpot up in the millions of dollars over time, parents from Ss. Peter and Paul School in Naperville have high hopes.
According to Team Captain Mike Leitner, the Advancement Board of Ss. Peter and Paul School is setting up the promotion at Quigley’s Irish Pub every week from now through August 10 to raise funds in support of student scholarships and teacher salaries.
Tickets ($5 each / payable with cash only) are available from 4PM to 8PM on Thursdays and Fridays and from 11:30AM to 3:45PM on Saturdays.
First Live Drawing is March 2
The first live drawing will be at 4PM Sat., March 2. Thereafter, a drawing will be held at 4PM every Saturday until the Queen of Hearts is a match.
The only week when the drawing will not take place is Sat., March 16, and when the Saturday falls on a holiday.
According to a sample ticket, all the proceeds will be shared with Ss. Peter and Paul School and the holder of the raffle ticket. The prize will be determined based upon the total number of tickets sold during the raffle game. The winner will receive 50 percent of the net dollar-value of the pot (after deducting taxes and expenses, as described in the Rules) existing at the time the Queen of Hearts card is revealed.
The ticket holder of the ticket drawn need not be present to win.
