The Exchange Club of Naperville will hold its Annual Allocation Lunch beginning at 11:30AM on Fri., March 1, at Meson Sabika, 1025 Aurora Avenue. The public is welcome.

The Allocations Committee, made up of 27 club members, is co-chaired by Bob Black and Barry Greenberg, and they’ve been carefully reviewing donation requests to make recommendations to the Board of Directors and Membership for fund disbursement with monies raised at Ribfest 2018.

This event is a time when the 48 agencies chosen to receive funds from the club’s annual Ribfest tell their stories. Funds are also given to the Edward Care Center and Project Help.

My experience at this luncheon is always very moving and one that makes all those hot days working Ribfest all worthwhile. Every organization that receives funding also volunteers at Ribfest. We are proud of the work these organizations do and pleased that our club is able to help them achieve their goals.

The lunch event is open to the public at a cost of $25. To attend this special luncheon, RSVP by calling (630) 779-2702 by February 18. Payment may be made at the event with cash or a check.

Meanwhile, note a new event, Bingo, Bags & Brew, is planned from 5PM to 9PM on Sat., April 13, at Players Indoor Sports.

I will write about it in next month’s column, but anyone looking to sponsor this new event can contact me at The money raised will go to needs-based scholarships for students entering either a 4-year or 2-year college or a trade school.
