Just before the Christmas holiday, it was announced that our Naperville campus would be purchased by North Central College near the end of 2019. With this announcement, Little Friends shared that it would be moving its schools, Center for Autism, and administrative arms of the organization to a facility located in Warrenville. While zoning requirements need to be met for both entities, the move for Little Friends in particular represents an opportunity to have new space for our three schools and the Center for Autism sometime in early 2020.
Our vision and ambition for the organization is to provide the clients and students we serve in the Chicagoland area the very best services they can get in the State of Illinois. Having a new and modernized facility that compliments this vision is what we are working to achieve. While we know we have some work to do in preparation for this change, the potential for what we can do is exciting to say the least! We will have room to grow by nearly an extra 25 percent and expand the outstanding programs we offer. When done, our work will continue to help children and adults challenged by developmental disabilities and autism.
We know this change matters and believe it will make a difference for our clients, their families, and the employees who support our clients’ needs. More information will be shared in the coming year as work is done and the date gets closer to our move. However, we’re thankful for the opportunity and look forward to providing our excellent programs and services for the years to come!
