UPDATE, Jan. 15, 2019 / On Wed., July 3, Billy Idol has been booked as the headliner for the Main Stage at 2019 Ribfest, slated for July 3-6 in Knoch Park.
Original Post, Dec. 19, 2018 / The Exchange Club of Naperville’s Ribfest will have a new home in 2020.
According to John Dunham, president of the Naperville Exchange Club, the club was notified this past summer by the Naperville Park District that Knoch Park will not be available for Ribfest 2020.
“It’s bittersweet, of course,” said Dunham. “Ribfest originally was held on Rotary Hill, then moved to Knoch Park, and eventually expanded into Knoch’s north and south parks in 2010. All we’ve known is hosting Ribfest in Naperville.”
Dunham continued, “Moving is rarely easy, but we’re excited about finding a nearby location that may offer better parking and an improved park layout.”
An ad hoc committee within the Exchange Club has been formed to secure a new location for the 32-year old music festival.
Meanwhile, plans are well in hand for Ribfest’s “last nights at Knoch.”
Three headliners for Ribfest 2019 are confirmed, and will be announced in January.
