Pop-up trolley tours offer another way to enjoy Naperville’s holiday lights

-

Naperville Trolley and Tours is running “pop up tours” for individuals, couples and small groups, departing from Gemato’s, located at 1566 Ogden Avenue on the southeast corner of Ogden and Jefferson.

This new location with times announced by noon daily aims to avoid confusion with the already scheduled “Northern” public tours from Braconi’s, and “southern” public tours from Aurelio’s.

This week, weather depending, pop-up tours are scheduled at 6PM, 7:15PM and 8:30PM. (Times may vary daily) Simply book your seat ($20 per person/all ages) with a quick visit to www.napervilletrolley.com. With the exception of Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, pop-up tours likely will be running through Dec. 27.  Follow the prompts and scroll down the calendar page on the Naperville Trolley and Tours website to today’s date or the date of your choice for complete details and availability.

One of the trolley-la-la-la la-la-la-la drivers has been taking folks on holiday tours longer than Trolley Chick Annette Wehrli has owned Naperville Trolley and Tours, the company she purchased from her father, Trolley Meister Don Wehrli, before his death in 2015.

“My driver, Irv, has worked for Naperville Trolley and Tours longer than I have!” she said.

“’Trolley Tom’ Kuhn is nutty and a lot of fun!” she added. “And ’Captain Sully,’ Dennis Sullivan, has many hats he wears.”

Every trolley driver has a gift of gab to the delight of all the passengers who climb aboard for a one-hour tour of the city’s holiday light extravaganza.

“For this 2018 season, I’m excited about the brilliant colors from one light display to the next! LED is amazing!” added Wehrli.
