Stories create community. They enable us to see our world through the eyes of other people and open our hearts and minds to new horizons. Stories inform. Stories entertain. Stories inspire. Stories have the power to bring us together!
And, sharing your stories on air (channel 17) and online (NCTV17.com) is at the heart of we do at your local nonprofit television station. As we tell each person’s individual story we also build our community’s collective story. That story helps bind us together today while simultaneously creating a visual history of Naperville for future generations to enjoy.
We tell stories about people like Elmwood Elementary fourth grader, Jackson Persin, who was honored by Naperville Responds for Veterans and presented with a Challenge Coin for his service to the community. And Grace Seiboldt who earned a spot on the Special Olympics Illinois team for the 2018 USA Games in Seattle. And Hotel Arista Executive Housekeeper Micki Dobrowski who collected 1,000 pounds of unused hotel toiletries and donated them to Clean the World – an organization that recycles them into usable amenities for the less fortunate.
Each of these stories connects us at a very human level and builds that sense of community that makes Naperville a great place to live.
If the stories you watch on Channel 17 or NCTV17.com touch your heart, please consider giving the gift of storytelling this holiday season.
When you make a tax-deductible gift to your local nonprofit TV station, you help us tell more stories about people like Jackson, Grace and Micki who not only have a positive impact on the community in which we live – but showcase the very best of Naperville to the world.
Thanks for helping us tell the next story and have a blessed holiday season!
