Santa House now open at the Riverwalk

-

Santa House begins Friday, November 30 and continues through Sunday, December 23.

Located on the Naperville Riverwalk at Jackson Ave. and Webster St., Santa House is open to the public on weekends and Tuesday-Thursday December 18-20. Visiting Santa is free, with the option of purchasing photos with Santa at $8 each or $15 for two. Tuesday-Friday hours are 4-8PM and Saturday and Sunday hours are noon-6PM. No advance reservations are needed during the public event hours.

Santa House is supported each year by many volunteers from the community, who act as Santa’s elves, provide crafts for kids while they wait, and help make the experience fun for everyone. Volunteers are still needed. Students age 14 and up may volunteer independently and those who are 12 or 13 years of age may volunteer with a parent.

“Volunteering at Santa House is a great activity for a family, a group of friends, neighbors or co-workers, or an individual who wants to help make the holiday season special for children,” said Volunteer Manager Lynnette Hoole.

Volunteer shifts are approximately 2 to 3 hours in length, depending on the day. Visit www.napervilleparks.org/volunteer to view current volunteer openings, fill out a volunteer application, and get a link to the volunteer training.

Santa House also is supported by local businesses and nonprofit partners that help keep the event free for the community. “We are excited this year to have 17 sponsors for Santa House, many of whom are providing unique activities or giveaways for our patrons,” said the Park District’s Sales and Sponsorship Manager Stacey Fontechia.
