Little Friends will host Parade of Lights Saturday

-

Little Friends, in partnership with the Downtown Naperville Alliance, will hold their annual Parade of Lights at 7PM through downtown Naperville on Saturday, December 1.  Parade goers will enjoy an evening of festivities, brightly illuminated floats and musical entertainment as the community gathers together for a showcase of holiday spirit and good cheer.

Immediately following the parade, Santa and Mrs. Claus will visit with kids inside the Santa House on the Riverwalk, Jackson at Webster streets until 9PM.

The Parade will travel through the heart of downtown under the beautiful twinkling lights. Parade viewing will be sparkling anywhere along the parade route. Launching from Jackson Avenue at Mill Street, the Parade will head east down Jackson, turning north on Main Street.  The parade will conclude at Main Street and Van Buren Avenue.

New! Remote Parking…Pick-up Routes 5-7PM / Return Routes 8-9:30PM

It is strongly recommended that spectators take advantage of newly created remote parking options.  Buses will transport attendees from parking at Yellow Box Community Christian Church, 1635 Emerson Lane; Wheatland Salem Church 1852, 95th Street; and Naperville North High School, 899 N Mill St, with drop off at the Naperville Municipal Center to access parade viewing.

Pick-up routes to downtown will run between 5-7PM.  Return routes to the remote locations will run between 8-9:30PM. Remote parking shuttle maps are available on the Little Friends website, www.littlefriendsinc.org.  TukTuk and other alternative transportation into the downtown area is also suggested due to anticipated crowds.

City Deck, Central Parking Deck, Van Buren or the Water Street parking decks will offer the additional parking choices, along with parking lots.

Be advised, street parking on parade streets will be removed starting at 4PM.

An ombudsman is Scandinavian in origin dating back to Viking times; and refers to a community representative; usually acting independently on behalf of an organization, body of elected officials, or civic group. Thanks Scandinavia for inventing ombudsman.
