According to this afternoon’s news release from the City of Naperville, maintenance work on the River Road railroad crossing is now scheduled to begin at 9AM on Tuesday, November 27 and is expected to be complete by 10PM on Friday, November 30, pending weather and unforeseen circumstances.
UPDATE, Nov. 25, 2018 / At 6:13PM, the following notice arrived from Linda LaCloche, Communications Manager for the City of Naperville: The River Road Railroad Crossing Closure has been delayed due to the impending storm. Thanks for always sharing our info. Fingers crossed that Naperville doesn’t get all the snow they are talking about.

NAPERVILLE, Ill. — The Burlington Northern Santa Fe (BNSF) Railway will be performing maintenance work on the River Road railroad crossing to pull and replace several pads and track from the crossing and install new asphalt.
Work is scheduled to begin at 9AM on Mon., Nov. 26 and is expected to be complete by 10PM on Thurs., Nov. 29, pending weather and unforeseen circumstances.
This work will require a complete closure of the crossing to all traffic.
The BNSF will re-route traffic on River Road via a posted detour on Jefferson and Ogden avenues. Access to local destinations near or adjacent to the crossing will be maintained while the railroad work is in progress.
Motorists should use caution in the area until the project is complete.
