Naperville Chamber of Commerce Legislative Meeting
Wednesday, September 26 / The Naperville Area Chamber of Commerce Legislative Committee Meeting is slated for 11:30AM Wednesday, September 26, at the Naperville Area Chamber of Commerce, Conference Room A, 55 S. Main Street in downtown Naperville. The cost is $15 for Chamber Members and $20 for guests. Lunch is included.
During the meeting, the Illinois Chamber and the Naperville Area Chamber of Commerce will recognize Illinois State Senator Michael Connelly and State Representative Grant Wehrli with the Champion of Free Enterprise Award.
In order to receive the award, a senator or representative must have received an average of 85 percent or better voting record over the previous two Illinois General Assemblies. Voting records are based on a legislator’s votes on measure the chamber deems important to the state’s business community.

Little Friends Respite Program, Wednesday Evenings, beginning September 26
Wednesday, September 26 / Facilitated with Respite Endowment Organization, Little Friend’s Respite Opportunities program offers multi-week sessions for children with special needs and their siblings, ages 5-12, featuring indoor and outdoor activities and socialization opportunities. A lead instructor along with volunteers and a Certified Nursing Assistant at every session will lead participants in structured activity stations, art projects, as well as gross and find motor play. Thursday, September 27 / A Public Safety Town Hall with Illinois Senator Mike Connelly and DuPage County States Attorney Bob Berlin is slated to begin at 6PM Thursday, September 27, in Council Chambers at the Naperville Municipal Center, 400 S. Eagle Street. Town Hall attendees will be able to express concerns about public safety, share ideas on how to make their community safer, and learn what currently is being done locally to ensure the safety of residents.

Laughing Lincoln Jubilee in Central Park
Sunday, September 30 / Laughing Lincoln Jubilee will be held in Central Park from 1 to 5PM Sunday, September 30, rain or shine, celebrating a county fair theme circa 1839 when Abe Lincoln was 30. The fundraising event will feature the dedication of a cornerstone to represent the first DuPage County Courthouse that used to be located in Central Park. Enjoy free concerts performed by the Naperville Municipal Band, OMT and other live bands in the park benches in front of the Community Concert Center. Another Central Lawn area will be devoted to the county fair where admission ($10 adults/$5 under 21) will be charged to partake in food, wine and beer as well as other fun activities and history moments.
