Cavalcade Tour of Homes Helps Shelter Homeless Veterans – All day | $12 online and $15 at the door
18 Homes in Western Suburbs
On September 7, 2018, 18 visionary homes in the Western Suburbs will open their doors for two weekends to showcase the very best in new home construction, architectural and interior design. Guests can tour as many homes as they like, at their own pace, to find inspiration and gain valuable, firsthand knowledge of all the possibilities that exist for todays homeowner. Presented by the Northern Illinois Homebuilders Association the Cavalcade is Illinois’ largest and most elaborate multi-site tour featuring homes throughout Chicago’s Western suburbs. Exploring the tour with friends is made easy through a downloadable app called Parade Craze that offers tickets, home descriptions and a map to get you from house to house. One $15 ticket gives you access to all 6 days of the tour and the knowledge that you are changing lives. Forty percent of the proceeds go directly to the Midwest Shelter for Homeless Veterans and Naperville Responds for Veterans, two organizations that provide housing, home repairs, job training, mental health services and more for our heroes in need. Chicago Steel Hockey Team – Preseason Game #1 – 7:05PM | $10

Join the Chicago Steel Hockey Team for their first pre-season game of the 2018-2019 season on home ice at the Fox Valley Ice Arena in Geneva. Come watch the top rising hockey stars in the world up-close with affordable seats right on the glass in the Muskegon Lumberjacks vs. Chicago Steel match up. Visitation for Mayor A. George Pradel – 10AM-6PM Sept. 8 & 9 at City Hall

Times for visitation for Mayor A. George Pradel will be 10AM to 6PM Sat., September 8 and Sun., September 9, 2018, in City Council Chambers at Naperville Municipal Center, 400 S. Eagle St., Naperville, IL 60540.

Funeral services will be private. Private interment: Naperville Cemetery, Naperville.

The Arthur Ray Foundation is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. The ongoing goal of the Arthur Ray Foundation is to help organizations like Safety Town of Naperville, Naperville Responds for Veterans, Little Friends, Inc., and many others that assist children and adults using art and technology. All donated funds will be distributed to Mayor Pradel’s favorite local charities.

Naperville Farmer’s Market â€“ 7AM-noon | Free Admission, $ for Items
5th Avenue Station – 200 E 5th Ave, Naperville, IL 60563
The Naperville Farmer’s Market is a rain/shine event that is held every Saturday starting June 2 and ending October 27 in the parking lot of 5th Avenue Station. This is a pet-free market. Over 25 vendors that offer anything from produce, to meat, to flowers, along with hot coffee.

Caseys Foods located at Naperville Plaza will be firing up its grill every Saturday and Sunday from 11AM to 2PM through October, weather permitting. Choose from a variety of options, including burgers, brats, tacos or the weekly special. It’s great food, at a good price, in a fun atmosphere outside under cover.

“Hunt for Good” Scavenger Hunt â€“ 2:30PM | $35

Naperville New GEN Rotary Club hosts Naperville Hunt 4 Good scavenger hunt to benefit NAMI DuPage. Meet at Quigley’s Irish Pub to review event instructions between 2:30-3PM. (For any “day-of” registrations, tickets will be $35/ea at the door, if not sold out.) The Scavenger Hunt will then take place from 3 to 5PM, returning to Quigley’s to tally points, award prizes, and celebrate. INFO: Hunt 4 Good.

A Delightful Quarantine – 2PM “Born to Love Ballet” – 3PM |

A dramatic comedy by Mark Dunn. An extra-terrestrial invasion places a neighborhood on house-bound quarantine for three days. At its heart, this play is about love and relationships. The interwoven story lines of the residents prompts the question, “If you were confronted with changing your life, would you?” Showtimes are Friday and Saturday Septmeber 7 and 8 at 7PM and Sunday, September 9 at 2PM. Local screening and Q&A for Stuart Meyer’s new feature documentary film, “Born to Love Ballet,” a seven-year journey through the unexpected ballet story and daily life of Kenneth von Heidecke as he also guides a devoted young student from age 11 toward her own dream of a professional ballet career at age 18. Seating is limited to 150 and available on a first come basis.
