McDonald Farm Open House is set for Sept. 23

Above / History and farming tours will be offered during an Open House 2-4PM Sun., Sept. 23, at McDonald Farm, located at 10S404 Knoch Knolls Rd. in Naperville.

A free Open House at McDonald Farm, The Conservation Foundation’s Naperville headquarters, will include tours of the Farm’s history and green features from 2PM to 4PM on Sun., Sept. 23.

Tours of all the natural areas of the Farm will highlight its rich local history and sustainable features such as solar energy, wind turbine, and rainwater harvesting, and also the Green Earth Institute’s organic farming and Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) program in the surrounding fields.

Register for one or both of the tours at Eventbrite.com or by going to theconservationfoundation.org under Events. Tours are about 45 minutes each.

Activities & Snacks for all ages

There’ll be activities for children, light refreshments and snacks, and a chance to meet with some of The Conservation Foundation staff to learn more about conservation programs.

The Conservation Foundation

The Conservation Foundation is one of the region’s oldest and largest nonprofit land and watershed conservation organizations, with more than 4,000 members. Founded in 1972, TCF has helped preserve more than 35,000 acres of open space, restored and cleaned miles of rivers and streams, and educated thousands of kids by engaging them in nature and the outdoors.
