Above / Since June, volunteers and members of the Naperville Noon Lions Club have been selling raffle tickets for their annual Summer Raffle that benefits programs focused on vision and hearing. Ticket sales end Sept. 1, 2018.
The Naperville Noon Lions Club will conclude its Annual Summer Raffle on Tues., Sept. 4, 2018, at its weekly luncheon meeting at Braconi’s Italian Restaurant.
Naperville Mayor Steve Chirico will be on hand to draw the winning tickets.
This year’s grand prize is $5,000. Other prizes include a second prize of $2,000, third prize of $1,000 and fourth prize of $500. All of the net proceeds from the raffle go to support the Lions program of providing eye examinations, eye glasses and hearing screenings at no cost to those individuals in the Naperville area who could not afford this type of service.
Approximately 4,500 raffle tickets will be sold this year and $22,000 raised from this event. Over the last ten years the Annual Summer Raffle has raised over $220,000 and provided services to over 3,000 individuals.
Lion Ken Strugalla, event coordinator, stated the Lions appreciate the community’s overwhelming support for the raffle.
“Without this support we would not be able to do what we do for the community,” Strugalla said, indicating that anyone who would like to attend the drawing is welcome by RSVP to the Lions at (630) 364-3922 or info@napervillenoonlions.org.
Chartered in 1948, The Naperville Noon Lions Club is a member club of Lions Clubs International, the world’s largest service organization, with over 1.4 million members and over 44,000-member clubs worldwide.
