Naperville Park District announces hours during 2018 Last Fling and Labor Day Weekend

Above / Watch for the all-volunteer bucket-shaking brigade when the 2018 Last Fling Labor Day Parade steps off at with its annual display of spirited community organizations at 10AM on Mon., Sept. 3. Note some parking lot closures during the Naperville Jaycees’ 4-day end-of-summer celebration in partnership with the City of Naperville and the Naperville Park District. Cheers!


Beginning Wed., Aug. 29, the Jaycees’ Last Fling will require the closing of parking lots and streets at and near the Alfred Rubin Riverwalk Community Center and Park District Administration Building.

The parking lots for the Alfred Rubin Riverwalk Community Center (at 305 W. Jackson Ave.) and the Park District Administration Building (320 W. Jackson Ave.) will close at 5AM on Wed., Aug. 29, and will remain closed through Mon., Sept. 3.

Park District hours of operation surrounding the Labor Day Holiday and Last Fling

  • Fort Hill Activity Center â€“ Open Fri. Aug. 31-Sun., Sept. 2 with regular operating hours. Labor Day holiday hours are 6AM-3PM on Mon., Sept. 3. Please note that there will be no open gym from Aug. 27-Sept. 3 due to the scheduled refinishing of the gym floor and the regular Friday and Sunday open gymnastics sessions in the gymnastics area are cancelled for Aug. 31 and Sept. 2. Additionally, the indoor track will be closed from Aug. 27-30 for installation of track doors.   • Alfred Rubin Riverwalk Community Center â€“ Closed Wed, Aug. 29-Mon., Sept. 3.
  • Administration Building â€“The Administration Building will close at 3PM on Fri. Aug. 31 and remain closed through Mon., Sept. 3.
  • 95th St. Center â€“ Open Aug. 27-31 with an early closing at 3PM on Fri., Aug. 31. Closed Sat., Sept. 1-Mon., Sept. 3.
  • Knoch Knolls Nature Center â€“ Open with regular operating hours Fri., Aug. 31-Sun., Sept. 2. Closed Mon., Sept. 3.
  • Riverwalk Café â€“ The Riverwalk Café will operate according to the following schedule: Aug. 27-30 – Closed; Fri., Aug. 31- Open 4-9PM; Sat., Sept. 1 – Open 11AM-9PM; Sun., Sept. 2- Open 11AM-9PM; and Mon., Sept. 3 – Open 11AM– 6PM.
  • Paddleboat Quarry â€“ Closed Aug. 27-31 and open on Sat., Sept. 2Sun., Sept. 3, and Mon. Sept. 4 from 10AM-2PM.
  • Millennium Carillon in Moser Tower and Visitor Center â€“ Closed Sept. 1 and 2 during Last Fling.
  • Springbrook and Naperbrook Golf Courses â€“ Open with regular operating hours.
  • Sportsman’s Trapshooting Range â€“ Open with regular operating hours on Thurs., Aug. 30 and Sun., Sept. 2.

Labor Day Weekend Centennial Beach Hours

Saturday, Sept. 1

o   9AM-10:55AM â€“ Adult Float

o   11AM-dusk – Open Swim

Sunday, Sept. 2

o   9AM-10:55AM â€“ Adult Float

o   11AM-6PM â€“ Open Swim

Monday, Sept. 3

o   11AM-6PM â€“ Open Swim

And that’s the end of the summer season for Centennial Beach, located at 500 W. Jackson Ave.
