Naperville Neighborhoods celebrate with Fourth of July Parades! Thanks to friends and neighbors who provided news that long-running annual parades begin at 8:45AM in Brook Crossings Estates, 11AM in Brookdale and 1PM in Knoch Knolls. In fact, Brookdale is celebrating America’s birthday with its 35th annual parade. Cheers to local! 

Find Waldo during 2018 Tour de Independents – FREE every day until July 31
More than 40 participating businesses throughout Naperville, IL 60540, 60563, 60564, 60565
Waldo returns to raise awareness about the good value of shopping locally in support of local independent businesses. If you don’t have a “Passport” yet, pick one up at Anderson’s Bookshop (open 12-5PM Independence Day), follow instructions, visit at least 12 participating businesses, then turn in the passport to be part of the raffle for prizes by July 31. The drawing will be at 11AM on Aug. 1. Find complete details with a click here. Thanks for getting to know our local independent business community. In 2017, Waldo showed up at Ribfest where a number of the sponsors and vendors are members of IndieBound Naperville.

Knoch Park – 724 S. West St, Naperville, IL 60540
Ribfest runs July 4 – 7 at Knoch Park in Naperville adjacent to Naperville Central High School. The annual fest features ribs, food vendors, carnival, family fun land and live music on multiple stages. Headliners this year include Pitbull and Steven Tyler. Info and tickets at www.ribfest.net. Tickets are available at the gate. And get this… Admission to the South Park only is $5 every day for everybody. Kids 11 and under are free all the time when accompanied by an adult. 

Thank you, Ribfest officials and Naperville’s Public Safety Team, for keeping festival goers safe during two evacuations of Knoch Park deemed necessary by severe weather conditions with lightning strikes.

95th Street Farmers Market – 3-7PM | Free
95th Street Library Parking Lot – 3015 Cedar Glade Dr. Naperville, IL 60564
The 95th St. Farmer’s Market will be held rain or shine at the 95th St. Library, 3015 Cedar Glade Rd., thru Sept. 27. For more info, visit www.napervilleparks.org/farmersmarket.

Naperville Municipal Band Big Band Concert – 7:30PM | Free
Central Park – 104 E. Benton Ave. Naperville, IL 60540
Tonight it’s the first NMB Big Band Concert!  The 2018 Thursday Evening Outdoor Summer Concert Series featuring the Naperville Municipal Band in Central Park started June 7 and a second NMB Big Band Concert wraps us the summer series on August 16. The performances are free to the public. Concert-goers sit on benches, blankets or their own folding chairs. Some set up portable tables for picnics. Others purchase delicious homemade goodies prepared by charitable organizations at the gazebo bake sale. Each Concert features a raffle sponsored by local businesses. Be sure to pick up one of the 1,000 numbered programs for a chance to win prizes. The Community Concert Center is located at 104 E. Benton Ave. INFO: www.napervilleband.org.

Trolley Tours of Naperville – 10:15 and 11AM | $8-16
Trolley Stop on Jackson Ave. at Eagle Street Naperville, IL 60540
Learn about old Naperville, and see the new Naperville. This one-hour Historic Tour of Naperville blends the past with the present, highlight’s Naperville’s growth, and includes some fun stories. Meet at the ‘Trolley Stop’ on Jackson Ave. at Eagle Street by 10:50AM. $16 per person, all ages. There is also a Children’s 30-minute Trolley ride at 10:15AM for $8. Trolley is fully enclosed and will run rain or shine, no refunds. DING! DING! Info and tickets at www.napervilletrolley.com.

Naperville Farmer’s Market – 7AM-noon | Free
5th Avenue Station – 200 E 5th Ave, Naperville, IL 60563
The Naperville Farmer’s Market is a rain/shine event that is held every Saturday starting June 2 and ending October 27 in the parking lot of 5th Avenue Station. This is a pet-free market. Over 25 vendors that offer anything from produce, to meat, to flowers, along with hot coffee.

Casey’s Fires Up the Grill – 11AM | Price varies with purchase.
Casey’s Foods – 124 W. Gartner Rd. Naperville, IL 60540
Caseys Foods located at Naperville Plaza will be firing up its grill every Saturday and Sunday from 11AM to 2PM through October, weather permitting. Choose from a variety of options, including burgers, brats, tacos or the weekly special. It’s great food, at a good price, in a fun atmosphere. Saturday Special 8AM to 7PM while supplies last: Casey’s Brats  only $2.98/lb., all varieties, and Casey’s Redskin Potato Salad  only $2.99/lb.

Just arrive by 6PM and let your server know you want to be in Central Park for the opening of number that begins at 7:30PM every Thursday through Aug. 16.
