Senior Voices – New Medicare Cards

-

Starting in April of this year, many of us seniors began receiving in the mail a new Medicare Card. The advantage is that your Social Security number is not on the card.

If you lost your card or driver’s license, scammers could wipe out your bank account, and they are doing it. When you receive your new card, immediately cut your old card into bits and securely dispose it. If you don’t receive it right away, be patient as they are being mailed automatically through April of 2019.

Beware of scams!

  • If someone calls and claims to be from Medicare and they ask for your Social Security Number, this is a scam.
  • Medicare will never call you nor ask for your Social Security number.
  • If someone asks you to send money for your new card, it’s also a scam.
  • If someone claims to cancel your benefits if you don’t give them information or send money, it’s another scam.
  • There will be no changes in your benefits.
  • Scammers love to prey on seniors as they think we are so gullible. So beware.

HOME NEEDED.

This is Lexi. She’s an 8-week-old German Shepherd. I bought Lexi as a surprise for my girlfriend, but it turns out she is allergic to dogs and we need to find her a new home. She is 70 years old, an attractive and caring woman who drives, is a great cook, and keeps a clean house.

And then there’s the story about the groom and Super Bowl…

I know this is late notice, but a friend of mine has two tickets for the Super Bowl. These are box seats and he paid $3,500 per ticket, which includes the ride to and from the airport, lunch, dinner, a $400 bar tab and a pass to the winner’s locker room after the game. What he didn’t realize when he bought the tickets last year, was the game is on the same day as my wedding. It’s at St. Paul’s Church at 3PM. Her name is Ashley. She’s 5’4″, weighs 115, a good cook, loves to fish and hunt and will clean your truck. She’ll be the one in the white dress.
